This was a private commission which took place over a few days/nights scattered over multiple weeks. Each time I revisited the wall, I got to my two clients Bron & Phil a little more. I got to know and vibe their love of Japanese pop culture and lifestyle. Every new day on the way meant new Easter eggs on the wall. New knowledge and time spent, meant a greater appreciation for them and for the mural in general. Truth is that I love this mural and I love my time spent with Bron & Phil (and their two cats. I met them just before COVID struck and we painted this during phase 1 lockdown. I think this really made me appreciate the really good company.
Ukiyo 浮世 translates to floating world. Which is defined as being present, living in the moment and detached from the bothers in life.
